IGUAZU FALLS OPTIONAL EXTENSION

Welcome to Iguazú, a complete paradise surrounded by nature. Iguazú, which means "The Great Waters" in the Guarani language, is located in the northern part of the province of Misiones, right on the Argentine-Brazilian frontier.

Listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and voted one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the Iguazú Falls and Iguazú National Park's natural splendor and lush vegetation are a must-see. The falls extend over 2,700 meters, with over 260 waterfalls reaching 70 meters high. They can be appreciated from Argentina or Brazil, with the magnificent Devil's Gorge defining the border between the two countries.

There is a beautiful view from a watchtower that is located in the Hito Argentino (Argentine milestone), right in the confluence of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers. This area draws the boundaries of the Argentine sovereignty with Brazil and Paraguay. The sight of the two rivers flowing together along with the exuberant vegetation is calming, yet amazing.

Average temperatures range from 25ºC / 77°F in the spring, to 35ºC / 91°F in the summer, and 25ºC / 77°F in the fall.

This 2nd part of the excursion takes about two hours.

Last but not least, you will take a trail going through 1.600 meters of catwalks, also detached from the jungles surface; you will enjoy a view from below and around the Iguazu Falls. Half a day excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls + Visit to Parque das Aves (Birds' park).
Nothing in the world of water compares to, or is more impressive than the natural spectacle provided by the stunning group of 275 waterfalls that make up the Iguassu Waterfalls.
Located a few kilometers from the union of the Iguassu River with the Paraná River, the waterfalls take you to a state of awe with their size, water flow and strong current.
The geologic change that gave birth to the Iguassu Waterfalls took place nearly 150 million years ago and shook the earth crust around the globe. At the Iguassu region those changes created a gigantic canyon, full of rock steps through which the grand Iguassu flows, producing a huge steam cloud and a deafening sound.
The average flow of the Waterfalls is around 1.800 m3 per second, for an average amount of 10 million liters per second. During the rain season, the stream of the Iguassu River increases and shows an even more beautiful spectacle.
The biggest waterfall is the “Devils Throat”, which is 90 meters high. The volume of water poured down creates a cloud of drizzling water that can be watched from kilometers away.

The Birds' Park is located at the entrance of Iguazu National Park and fully integrated within the Atlantic Rainforest. Over the course of this extraordinary tour you'll see harpy eagles, owls, toucans, parrots and even reptiles such as alligators!
